Takamine GP3HSE Acoustic/Electric Travel Guitar

The Takamine GP3HSE is a compact travel-sized dreadnought that proves great things really do come in small packages. Despite its smaller body, it delivers impressive projection, balanced tone, and outstanding playability, making it an excellent choice for travel, songwriting, recording, or everyday playing.

What truly sets the GP3HSE apart is that it comes factory-strung in Nashville tuning, using octave strings on the lowest four courses to create the shimmering, chiming sound normally associated with a 12-string guitar. The result is a bright, airy tone that adds beautiful texture to recordings without overpowering vocals or other instruments. This classic studio technique became a signature sound on countless Southern California folk-rock recordings of the 1970s, adding sparkle and depth while leaving plenty of room in the mix. For players who prefer a traditional acoustic sound, the GP3HSE can easily be restrung with a standard 6-string acoustic string set for conventional tuning, making it an exceptionally versatile instrument.

Visually, the GP3HSE is equally impressive. Elegant gold hardware paired with amber pearloid tuning buttons gives the guitar a refined, upscale appearance that looks as good on stage as it does in the studio.

Ready for live performance, the GP3HSE comes equipped with Takamine's TP-3G electronics, featuring a 3-band EQ, master volume control, and a built-in chromatic tuner for quick, accurate tuning between songs. Whether plugged into an acoustic amplifier or a PA system, it delivers the warm, natural amplified tone that has made Takamine a favorite of performing musicians worldwide.
